Chicago Clarinet Collaborations was held on November 7th, 2009 at Northeastern Illinois University.  It featured an Orchestral Excerpt Competition and Masterclass adjudicated by Lawrie Bloom, Steve Cohen, Larry Combs, and Julie DeRoche.  The event was a collaboration of the clarinet studios of the following universities:

• Northeastern Illinois University
• Northwestern University
• Northern Illinois University
• DePaul University
• Roosevelt University
• Elmhurst College
• Wheaton Conservatory of Music

The event culminated in a clarinet ensemble extravaganza that included a 65 member rendition of Holst's Suite in Eb.
